Former BBC MasterChef:The Professionals winner Jamie Scott, whose restaurant The Newport was recently named AA Restaurant of the Year for Scotland, will be cooking the starter at our St Andrew’s Day Dinner held in association with at the Old Course Hotel, Golf Resort and Spa on the evening of November 29th.
He is joining an amazing line-up including Martin Hollis, executive chef at the Old Course Hotel; Geoffrey Smeddle of The Peat Inn Restaurant with Rooms; Mat Majer from The Adamson; Sharon Munro of St Andrews Links and Duncan McLachlan of Playfair’s Restaurant and Steakhouse.
The chefs will be supported by students from Cupar’s SRUC Elmwood Campus and Fife College and, from profit made at the dinner, each college will receive a bursary to be used for further hospitality training.

Jamie Scott – Originally from Arbroath, former BBC MasterChef:The Professionals winner Jamie was inspired by his mother – Britain’s first female sous chef – and his grandmother, a keen baker. Jamie helped in the kitchen of his parents’ Arbroath pub before attending culinary college to pursue his dream of becoming a chef. After six years learning his craft, Jamie had a four year spell as head chef at Rocca, St Andrews. In March 2016, Jamie and his wife Kelly opened The Newport, just across the River Tay from Dundee. The restaurant has wowed diners both local and from afar with its wonderfully unique experience and stunning river views. The Newport was awarded 2 AA Rosettes only weeks after opening and entered in the Michelin Guide.
